Kris Kross and ABC came out a few years apart and had a lil' tension over who started the backwards pants trend...hilarious, I know lol. ABC had the airbrushed pants and at one point, the blonde fades. Kris Kross had the backwards clothes, the braids, and Ewings...I was a hardcore Kris Kross fan and back then, it was almost like "Gully vs. Gaza" when it came to picking sides but girls loved them both. Both groups attempted comebacks...and if you don't remember it, that says enough huh???
Shyheim and Lil Vicious also appeared around the same time. Shyheim (a cousin of Ghostface Killah) released his first single "On & On' in 1994 from the album "AKA the Rugged Child". Shyheim also appeared on Lil Vicious debut "Destination Brooklyn" on the track, "Life as a shorty" which included Doug E Fresh as well. It also had the hits "Freaks" which featured Doug E Fresh again and "Nika". Shyheim continued to do music and began acting. He was the lead in TLC's "Waterfalls" video and appeared as a regular on the UPN sitcom "The Parenthood". Lil Vicious faded to black after the first album and the success of "Freaks" and "Nika". He still does music but has changed his name to "Don Vicious" and kinda still looks the same but with a much deeper voice (as expected...). He still performs and makes appearances with Doug E Fresh & Slick Rick and I wonder if Shy is still beefin' with Rae..
My favorite track and now & then pics below...
Iesha- Another Bad Creation (reminds me of a child version of "Poison" from their mentor's group Bell Biv Devoe)
